Plain-English terms
The standard "be reasonable, we'll be reasonable" arrangement.

1. Who we are
MoMoFi is operated by MoMoFi, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. In these terms, "we", "us", "our" and "MoMoFi" mean MoMoFi, LLC.
2. Acceptance
By creating a MoMoFi account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't create an account. We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes get an email notice and an updated date at the top of this page.
3. What MoMoFi is
MoMoFi is a personal-finance and household-budgeting application. It stores the data you enter and the data you authorise it to pull (via Plaid). It computes summaries, scores, and projections based on that data. It is software; it is not a financial institution, a fiduciary, an investment advisor, an accountant, or a tax professional.
Some Family-plan features (chore bounties and savings-goal pledges from household members or relatives you invite) help you keep track of money commitments between people. MoMoFi only records these and reminds you about them. It does not move, hold, or process the money, and it does not guarantee that anyone pays what they pledged. Any actual payment happens directly between the people involved, outside the app. MoMoFi is not a payment processor, escrow, bank, or money-transfer service.
4. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. Two-factor authentication is strongly recommended (free for every plan), and passkeys (biometric sign-in) are available on paid plans.
- You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use MoMoFi. This applies to every account, including a student account inside a Household. If you're a parent or guardian inviting a student, you're confirming they're 13 or older.
- MoMoFi isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly create accounts for them. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll close it and delete the data.
- You may not share an account between multiple unrelated people; invite them into your household instead.
5. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Reverse-engineer, exploit, or test the security of the service except as permitted by our disclosure policy
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Send spam or commercial messages through any in-app field
- Upload illegal content as receipts or in any other field
- Use the service to commit fraud, launder money, or violate financial regulations
- Probe, scan, or DOS the infrastructure
Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
6. Subscription, trial, and billing
- The Free plan is free forever: no credit card, no expiry.
- Every new household gets a 28-day free trial of the full product. No payment method is required to start it, and nothing is charged unless you choose a paid plan. One trial per household.
- When the trial ends, the account stays open. Your records and everyone in your household remain; the features that cost us money to provide, such as bank syncing, pause until you subscribe.
- Billing is handled by Stripe. You can manage your payment method, change plans, or cancel any time via the Customer Portal accessible from
/settings/billing. - Subscription fees are billed in advance, monthly or yearly per your selection. Yearly plans get a discounted effective price.
- Cancellation: takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep paid features through that period and won't be charged again. Cancelling does NOT delete your data; your account drops to the Free plan.
- Refunds: we don't offer pro-rated refunds for partial periods. If you believe you were charged in error, reach out via the contact page.
- Price changes: if we change pricing, existing subscribers keep their current rate for at least 60 days after notification. Changes apply only on the next renewal.
7. Not financial advice
The financial-health score, debt-payoff projections, savings calculations, calendar forecasts, and every other computed value in MoMoFi are tools to help you think about your money; they are not personalised financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. We don't know your full situation and we're not licensed to give that advice.
Decisions you make based on what you see in MoMoFi are entirely yours. For real advice, consult a licensed professional in your jurisdiction.
8. Bank linking and third-party data
When you link a bank account via Plaid, you're authorising Plaid to access your bank and forward transaction/account data to MoMoFi. Plaid's terms and your bank's terms also apply to that data. MoMoFi relies on the accuracy of the data Plaid returns; we don't independently verify it against your bank.
9. Your content
You retain all rights to data you enter into MoMoFi. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that data solely as needed to operate the service for you. We don't acquire any ownership of your data and don't use it for anything else.
10. Data deletion
You can delete your account from /settings/data at any time. There's a 30-day grace period during which you can change your mind and recover it. After that, your data is permanently deleted; the only thing we keep is internal security-log entries that contain no personal information.
11. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but don't promise zero downtime. We may schedule maintenance or experience outages from our infrastructure providers. We don't guarantee specific service levels for any plan.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculated values will be free of bugs.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost savings, or loss of data, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
14. Termination
You can stop using MoMoFi at any time by deleting your account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; in cases other than abuse, we'll give reasonable notice and a window to export your data first.
15. Changes to these terms
Material changes will be emailed to active accounts and reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use after the change date constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of MoMoFi, are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Any such dispute must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and MoMoFi, LLC each consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
